Web conferencing

How much do you spend on travel? Well one return ticket from Bristol or Bath to London now costs over £100 in peak time.

How about cutting that cost dramatically with web conferencing?

Two people can be on a web conference 24 hours a day for a whole month for the same price. The primary reason behind the creation of the Internet was to allow people to share information and knowledge.

Web conferencing collaboration is merely an extension of the Internet's capability. Within the next 2 to 3 years, businesses will view their web conferencing solution in the same way as their phone system. Web conferencing means something different to everyone but really what you are doing is mimicking what a face to face meeting actually is.

The most misunderstood concept is collaboration. People who use EMail to communicate believe they collaborate when in reality EMail is not very collaborative because it is not interactive. People really want to be able to not only send a presentation over the web but also to share applications, remote control, perform dynamic file transfers, voice and keyboard chat and more.

If you can't actually meet - easily or regulalrly - how much easier to talk with someone over your VOIP connection whilst you share each others desktops?

Traditionally, only large companies have implemented web conferencing solutions due to cost and infrastructure requirements but this has changed dramatically over the past 2-3 years. Now small companies can easily implement web conferencing - it can be up and running on a stand alone basis within hours and only takes a day or two, via APIs, to build into your proprietary or packaged solutions so that they become embedded, easy to use and operate, everyday tools.

Far too often web conferencing solutions get caught up in the technology rather than focusing on what is most important; the ability to communicate and collaborate easily and quickly. The technology should be transparent and enable the participants to seamlessly achieve their objectives. Web conferencing technology should promote the exchange of information.

A Landmark in VAT

Everyone likes to save money and if it's available from the taxman so much the better! At 17.5% of costs VAT is a significant element of anyone's construction budget particularly if that VAT is not recovered by the developer. The developer could be a private individual converting or renovating a building to form a home or a commercial property investor developing for profit.
