Are you missing an opportunity in ECommerce?
The details of building a successful website - find out how to do it
What are the "laws of ECommerce"? Find out here.
The Internet and the World Wide Web have led to a change in the way business is being conducted.
This change has led to a substantial shift in business distribution, and employee work, patterns already - a shift that is only going to gather even further momentum.
Organisations need to create an ECommerce presence and capability - for those SMEs that want an online shop our osCommerce approach is the way to go forward.
In setting up a website or ECommerce project, we have a focused approach that ensures that all the factors that have to be considered are taken into account, using a clear, business focused approach to building your website.
What is good design for ECommerce? What increase your chances of making more sales?
Research shows that the main factor for successful ECommerce is ease of navigation. Everything must be easy to find and where people expect to look for them and that is not necessarily where you think you should put them!
Once the consumer has found your product(s) do you provide enough information about to make them comfortable about purchase? Not too "techy" and not too "marketingspeak" - just good honest descriptions with more information easily available for those who want to delve deeper. Very importantly do you have good thumbnail photos and really good full sizes photos - a picture is, after all, worth a thousand words.
You also have to make sure that you are credible. Shoppers will look at your site and think: "I'm going to give you my money -- what are you going to give me? Are you going to send me the product fast? What about if it does not work – how to I get a refund? Are you going to spam me or sell my EMail address?”
You have to be clear about privacy and that means a clear statement and absolute adherence to: “We will never give out your e-mail address for any reason”. You also must, must, must have your address on the site (see below) and you will improve trust and sales if you provide a phone number (see above and below). Show photos of your actual and real office / warehouse and your staff – simple ordinary photos, not high style, airbrushed PR shots.
For new shoppers the first sale is the most important. If they buy they won’t be shy, but too many stores ask for extra information at sale. Don’t. Get it from surveys, EMails etc. Just shut up and let them shop. Information is essential but not at the expense of sales.
So – easy navigation to well photographed and described products with fast checkout and payment from someone I trust because I know where to find them and how to get hold of them – that is what you have to design in to an effective ECommerce site.
We help you to make sure that all the above is covered and then prepare a blueprint to meet the objectives, constraints, activity, investment and time required to successfully implement your ECommerce web site. We consider all factors in web and ECommerce development and site design and build and give you a website that will grow your business.
